The Jones Twins write songs—or, let’s say we vibe with sound and let it happen.

We’ve penned songs for the legendary (and unpredictable) Malcolm McLaren of The Sex Pistols infamy. We teamed up with avant-groove rockers M’Lumbo on indie film System Noise recording the vocal tracks for the character Starlett—melding our surreal vocals with their rock, sci-fi vibe.

With composer/poet Janice Lowe, we unleashed Barbie-cide (as disturbing as it sounds) at NYC’s Ohio Theatre, and dreamed up Wright/Huxtables at St. Ann’s, blending beats, words of a Native Son and Cosby Show rhythms in the most theatrical way we could. Stephanie and Janice collaborated on the full-length musical, Lil Budda, selected for the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Conference and the National Alliance for Musical Theatre New Musicals Festival.

When we’re not working in the music underground, we’ve crafted catchy, commercial, kid-approved tunes for the likes of Universal Kids, PBS Kids/Sesame Workshop, Disney, and Nickelodeon. We’ve got music for everything from an existential doll disco ditty, to an Egyptian goddess torch song, to a kids’ house track and more.
