Performance
We have brought our unique voice(s) to iconic stages coast to coast, becoming ubiquitous and innovative forces in live performance and creative storytelling.
Television & Film
We’re behind-the-screen, from kid’s TV, to Spike Lee films to a documentary memoir spotlighting our hyperreal performances and unique backstory.
Music
We write songs - or let’s say we vibe with sound and let it happen - often in surrealistic synch, from multi-genre kids’ music to cool tunes for grownups.
Books
With Caldecott-award winning children’s book author- illustrator Javaka Steptoe, we’re developing an afro-futuristic graphic novel.
“When you mix a little Bebop with a little Muzak, which one rises to the top?”
“I guess that depends on how hard you shake it!”
— Jones Twins doppelgangers, The Double It Twins
After graduating with her Communications degree from Howard University, Stephanie teamed up with her twin to create many legendary live shows.
Stephanie’s producing talents put her on sets with icons like Spike Lee and Keenen Ivory Wayans. As Supervising Producer on Nickelodeon’s beloved “Gullah Gullah Island,” she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy.
She created the family lifestyle segment “Brooklyn Love with Jiji Jones” for Brooklyn’s digital TV network, BRIC TV. She also has contributed as a development producer for Happy Owl Media, Inc.
Stephanie and composer Janice Lowe collaborated on the full-length musical, Lil Budda, selected for the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Conference and the National Alliance for Musical Theatre New Musicals Festival.
Then, with Suzanne, she created several children’s series and pitched original series concepts to industry giants like Disney, Sesame Workshop (pitch deal), Thirteen/WNET, Sunny Hostin Productions and Time Studios (option deal). For Universal Kids network, The Jones Twins consulted on their brand re-launch and received a development deal to create three musical series. They’ve also brought their bold, kid-centered visions to Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, PBS Kids, and 9Story Media.
She directed the documentary short memoir, The Jones Twins: Bebop Souls in a Muzak World.
Stephanie has an MFA from NYU Tisch Graduate Music Theatre Writing.
Suzanne studied drama at Howard U and performed theatre and sketch comedy around NYC before collaborating with her sis.
She has worked in *media her whole life.
Her first NYC job was at the legendary Village Voice, as Arts Editor Karen Durbin’s assistant.
Suzanne was a producer on FXX Network’s series “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell” and was part of the original series team at Nuvo TV (now Fuse Media). At PEOPLE Magazine, she started in the news bureau and became a producer in the TV Dept.
For NYC animation company, No Evil, Suzanne wrote animated shorts and performed musical and comic voiceovers. She voiced national commercials and was repped by International Creative Management (ICM).
With Stephanie, she’s created several children and family series, earning pitch, option and development deals with major studios. Some day one of their TV projects will even make it on the air - actually one kind of did but…well, don’t ask about their Disney experience. 😒
She wrote their short documentary, The Jones Twins: Bebop Souls in a Muzak World, directed by Stephanie.
Suzanne’s MFA is from Long Island U’s TV Writers Studio at Steiner Studios.
*Advice for the kids: “Working” in theatre is financial Armageddon for most thespians, but media jobs pay.
